Hoblins Bronze Statues
& Resin Collectables

Once upon a time, many years ago, a boy named Georgie Pegg and his family went for a picnic in the Middle England, known as Alton, Staffordshire. After travelling for a long time, the family found the outskirts of a forest. The sun shone through the trees and the birds sang merrily high up in the tree tops. Once the family had eaten, they began to walk through the forest, enjoying the sunshine and the woodland around them. The boy was looking up into the trees as he walked, trying to spot the squirrels that he knew were hiding amongst the branches. Suddenly, Georgie realised he was alone.... he had lost his family somewhere along the forest path. Continued.....

We have now added the new Hoblins resin collectable range;
an affordable way to add these little characters to your garden.
They are much smaller than the bronze Hoblins, but much more colourful!!
Scroll down the page to see them.

Pip

Pip appears as dusk falls, playing his bamboo flute and gracefully dancing amongst the trees and shrubs. He plays a soft lullaby and soon all the birds in the trees above are huddling together, slowly drifting off to sleep. As dawn appears again on the horizon, Pip appears again, this time his music is more lively and he springs around the garden as the wildlife around him awakes and stirs in the morning dew.

Pip is approximately 30 inches tall,
hand-crafted in bronze,
and is £495 including UK delivery.

Pip, Hoblin flute player
Puck

Puck looks after the birds in the garden. He likes their company, and will sometimes feed them seeds from his hand. Puck watches out for cats as they feed. If he sees any come near, he gets his catapult at the ready, taking aim with an acorn. The cats scarper, they know that Puck is a good shot.

Puck is approximately 21 inches tall,
hand-crafted in bronze,
and is £495 including UK delivery.

Puck, Hoblin bird protector
River

River spends all his time at night by the garden pond. When no one is around, he will put the conch shell to his lips and play a haunting melody. The fish in the pond feel attracted to the music and rise to the water's surface. River likes to watch the fish dancing through the water, their scales shimmering in the moonlight.

River is approximately 32 inches tall,
hand-crafted in bronze,
can be used as a fountain,
and is £695 including UK delivery.

River, Hoblin fish charmer
Pod

Pod is a very methodical character. The most calm and relaxed of all the Hoblins, nothing much really bothers him. Pod likes to sit on his leaf all day just thinking and smiling to himself. He will occasionally look up when he notices a bird or rabbit. It is oblivious to his presence as Pod watches it pass by.

Pod is approximately 30 inches tall,
hand-crafted in bronze,
and is £845 including UK delivery.

Pod, Hoblin thinker
Spud

Spud is a protector of the vegetable patch. He stands guard by the edge of the garden, on the watch for hares and rabbits that like to dig up the garden and steal the vegetables. Whenever they come near, he jumps onto their backs and rides them out of the garden, laughing hysterically as he goes.

Spud is approximately 28 inches tall,
hand-crafted in bronze,
and is £845 including UK delivery.

Spud, Hoblin hare rider
Spring

Spring is the most athletic of all the Hoblins. He rushes around the undergrowth at the back of the garden keeping his beady eyes open for any movement. As soon as anything approaches, he jumps out laughing and giggling at the startled birds. Spring enjoys jumping around the garden, leaping from bird table to the wheelbarrow, knocking anything over in his path.

Spring is approximately 48 inches tall,
hand-crafted in bronze,
and is £995 including UK delivery.
Spring, Hoblin athlete
Twigg

This bronze wall plaque is modelled on the classic Green Man, and features a Hoblin peering through the oak leaves.

'Twigg' is approx. 13 inches tall,
hand-crafted in bronze,
and is £295 including UK delivery.
Twigg, Hoblin wall plaque

"It became a dream come true for me to bring to life these mischievous little characters. Each is hand-crafted from bronze, and given the detail and expression that makes them so alive. Sometimes, if you look from the corner of your eye, you can almost feel them move! They are economical little sprites, living on a few handfuls of acorns a week, but make sure you don't forget about them or they could create havoc in your garden! With five Hoblins to collect, there is room in any garden for these inspirational statues. Capturing the imagination and bringing to life childhood memories of fairy stories and magic. They're not just statues. I believe that they are much more than that. It just takes a little belief. I hope they give you as much pleasure as they have given me to create."
Julian Jeffery, Sculptor

We are pleased to offer these wonderful statues from The Olde English Bronze Company Ltd. We hope that you can find a place for them in your home or garden.

Spud is the protector of the vegetable patchSpud is the protector of the vegetable patch Spud

Spud stands guard by the edge of the garden, on watch for the hares that like to dig up the vegetables and steal them. Whenever they come near, he jumps onto their backs and rides them out of the garden or challenges them to a boxing match - which the hares take very seriously indeed.
Pip plays his music at dusk to send the birds to sleep Pip

Pip appears as dusk falls playing his pan pipes or his bamboo flute and gracefully dancing amongst the trees and shrubs. He plays a soft lullaby and soon all the birds in the trees above are huddling together, slowly drifting off to sleep. As dawn appears on the horizon, Pip appears again; this time his music is more lively and he springs around the garden as the wildlife around him awakes and stirs in the morning dew.
Pod is a thinker and likes nothing better than to just sit and watch the world go by Pod

The most calm and relaxed of all the Hoblins, nothing much really bothers Pod. He likes to sit on his leaf in the forest all day (or under his leaf if it's raining) just thinking and smiling to himself, occasionally looking up when a bird or a rabbit passes him by and watching it as it goes on its way - oblivious to his presence.
Bud enjoying the sunBud looking out for signs of weather Bud

Bud is a 'weather Hoblin' - able to tell the other Hoblins when to expect sunshine or showers, where to look for rainbows or even when it's going to snow. When he's on duty he sits looking out into the distance and studies the sky for signs of rain or wind or frost or storm but when he has successfully forecast sunshine - well then he just falls asleep and enjoys it!
Sunny by name and sunny by nature! Sunny

This cheerful little Hoblin is never happier than when he's standing in the garden welcoming the sunshine and looking forward to all the good things that are certain to happen that day because if you smile - well then the whole world smiles with you!
Moss is a rescuer Moss

Moss is a rescuer - looking out for butterflies and moths that he can rescue from spiders' webs and set free. He loves to toss them gently up into the air and watch them as they flutter away into the wood.
Brocky falls asleep at the entrance to badger setts Brocky

Most of the time Brocky gets on very well with his badger friends but sometimes they get a bit cross when they come home after a busy night foraging for food to find they can't get home because of a sleeping Hoblin lying in the doorway - all a tired badger can do then is wait for the snoring Hoblin to wake up!
Chubb loves eating!!! Chubb

Chubb especially likes eating apples because they're just so sweet and so crunchy and so more-ish that it really is impossible to stop until he's had too many and that's when he falls asleep with a great big happy smile on his face and a very fat tummy!
They seek him here, they seek him there........they seek Berry everywhere Berry

Some humans might call Berry a thief but to the Hoblins he's a hero. Whether flying through the air with his bag of stolen goodies on Maggie, his specially trained Magpie, or pulling up carrots from the garden to feed the caged rabbits he sees on his travels, Berry cuts a dashing figure as he takes from those who have too much and gives to those who have too little.
Pegg sleeping it offPegg is a secret drinker Pegg

Late at night when all the other Hoblins are asleep, old Pegg steals away and with the stars to light his way he walks through the wood to the secret hideaway where he keeps his supply of home made wine. All night he drinks under the silvery moon and in the morning he staggers back over the little stile and falls asleep in his favourite conker shell.
Dingle loves playing games with the wild animals in the forest Dingle

One of Dingle's favourite games is leapfrog but when he tried leaping over the back of his friend the Hedgehog it all went a bit wrong and he ended up getting prickled!
Twigg - the spirit of the woods Twigg*

Twigg dances like a will-o-the-wisp among the branches and leaves of the trees in the forest watching out for everyone who enters the world of the Hoblins. Only rarely can he be seen but be sure that he is always looking out for any human or animal who needs help.
