BatScan Analysis Software for the Batbox Duet
Easy to install, BatScan will record and play back sound samples through your Windows compatible sound card. However, a sound card is not necessary in order to analyze and display audio spectrograms. BatScan processes PCM format digital audio data such as .wav sound files. Default settings have been optimised for use with Batbox Duet. BatScan will operate with 8-bit colour. 24-bit colour is required to save screen images as graphics files. Compatible with Windows 95, 98, ME, NT 4.0, 2000, Vista or XP, and runs best with 128MB of RAM.

Batbox Griffin Bat Detector
The Griffin has been designed to provide all the required functions for studying and surveying bat populations, whilst being easy to use in the dark and without the necessity for the usual connecting leads to recording equipment. Recording time is limited only by the capacity of the Compact Flash card used. The advanced design gives the user setup options, and many automatic features allow use by non-specialist operators.

Ciel CDB105 Bat Detector
This is ideal as a starter unit or for use by young observers. The CDB 105 is a heterodyne detector, and to assist in dialing the observing frequency there is a scale printed on the panel. The unit uses electret microphones as their wide range, from 15 kHz up to 120kHz, make them perfect for listening to different species of bat. The unit is designed with de-centered knobs so that it can be used in one hand, almost as easily as with both hands, even by a child. The unit comes with an integrated speaker for group listening, or can also be used with the included lightweight headphones, which can be connected via a 3,5 mm jack. It also has an integrated LED torch, to help whilst walking through dark woods. Requires a 9v battery which is not included with the device.

Ciel CDB103 Bat Detector
This unit is equipped with two high quality backelectret microphones, set at a 90° angle to enable the detection of bats in all dimensions. It has all the features of the CDB105 unit, with the addition of a switchable line-out, an integrated mono speaker and an LED display of the tuned frequency. The CDB103 is a fantastic device for either group listening via the speaker, or for listening over the headphones via the stereo output. It is simple to use, even in one-handed-mode. The headphones are connected via a 3,5 mm jack, and are included with the detector. Requires a 9v battery which is not included with the device.

Ciel CDB101 Bat Detector
Like the CDB103, this unit is equipped with two high quality backelectret microphones, set at a 90° angle to enable the detection of bats in all dimensions. The observed frequency is shown on a 2 x 8 digit LCD-Display, which also has a battery strength indicator. With a stereo output, the detector is designed for listening over the headphones, however an external speaker (available on the accessories page) can be added for group listening. It is simple to use, even in one-handed-mode. The headphones are connected via a 3,5 mm jack, and are included with the detector. Requires a 9v battery which is not included with the device.

Ciel CDB205 Bat Detector
This frequency division unit allows you to observe the whole spectrum of bat sounds from 18 to 120 KHz simultaneously. The whole spectrum is divided by 10 and can then be heard through the built in speaker. The unit also has a headphone socket and an integrated LED torch for detecting in the dark. Requires a 9v battery which is not included with the device.

Ciel CDB305 Bat Detector
The CDB305 is the the dual-detector for the beginner. In FD mode you can easily check if there are any bats around by observing the whole frequency range from 20 to 120kHz, whilst in HD mode, you can then attempt to identify the species by tuning in the frequency on the printed scale. You can easily switch between both modes, and the internal speaker allows the whole family to enjoy the bat sounds. It also comes packaged with headphones, which can be connected via the 3.5mm jack. Please note that, when listening on the headphones, the internal speaker is automatically shut off. Requires a 9v battery which is not included with the device.

Ciel CDB301 Bat Detector
The CDB301 was the first unit in the CDB series to combine both a heterodyne detector with a frequency division detector. It has recently been updated with the revision 3 of this best selling unit. Each function has a separate microphone to gain the highest sensitivity. In HD-mode, you can tune the observed frequency, which is shown on a 2x8 digit backlit LCD-display, helping you to identify the bat by sound and frequency. In FD-mode (including amplitude recovery), you observe the whole band at once, and so can easily identify if there are bats around. It has the additional option of switching channels to left/right, enabling you to observe the full frequency in FD-mode on the left channel, whilst tuning the right channel in HD-mode. The R3 now includes an integrated commentary button, enabling you to take notes. The headphones are connected via a 3,5 mm jack, and are included with the detector. Requires a 9v battery which is not included with the device.

Ciel CDP102 Bat Detector
The CDP 102 R3 has been specifically designed for long-term surveys. It features brilliant HD-Sound, external microphones and the stereo/dual option. It has a 2x8 digit LCD display and volume control. With the extended frequency range from 15 to 130 kHz you are able to record all bat sounds in clear audio, via any suitable device (not included). The external microphones are in an aluminium-housing with 8 inch cables allowing them to be placed where they are needed and are not depending on how the detector is installed. The detector can be switched from standard stereo mode for recording of flight direction to dual mode, where left and right channel can be set to different HD-bands. As a result, you are able to observe two different frequencies at the same time. In dual-mode both frequencies will be shown on the display, and for long-term surveys the display can be switched off to conserve battery life. Headphone and line out sockets for connection to recording devices are integrated. The detector has to be supplied by an external 9-12Volt DC source. It can be clipped externally to a standard 9v battery, or the lead can be used to connect to a custom power supply, like for example a 12v lead-gel rechargeable battery. The package includes: Detector, 2 microphones, Power-cables 2,1mm plug to 9V clip, 2,1mm plug for building own power supply.
