Trees and Shrubs
Trees and Shrubs
The British Isles has a wide range of native and introduced trees and shrubs, ranging in size from the small Mahonia of broad leaved woodland to the large native oaks and pines, and the introduced conifers such as the Wellingtonia.

Wildflowers and Lower Plants
Wildflowers and Lower Plants
In Britain we have a broad variety of plant life, occupying many niche habitats, and ranging from the small mosses, liverworts and lichens to the larger wildflowers, grasses, sedges, rushes and ferns. From the seashore to the highest mountain top, plants find a home. Many of them provide food for animals, but some of them are extremely poisonous.
Fungi
Fungi
Neither plant nor animal, fungi are an interesting group of organisms comprising a vast range of forms, from tiny insignificant blobs to majestic tree bracket fungi up to one metre across. The structures we see, however, are merely the fruiting bodies of these organisms, with the main structure hidden from view.
